From our Concierge desk: Things to do in Los Cabos

Many of our guests and visitors to the hotel often wind up asking our concierge what are some fun things to do in Los Cabos.  While there are many activities to do, here are a select few favorite suggestions:

a-Estuary-postFor a peaceful early morning walk, the San Jose’s Estuary and Bird Sanctuary is a  pleasant way to take in the local wildlife and enjoy nature. There are often fantastic nature photography opportunities, and the estuary is close to the sea. Here you can see Egrets, pelicans, moorhens, herons, ducks, woodpeckers, cormorants, and similar waterfowl. If you love nature, you will love this walk.

a-artwalkOn Thursday evenings, between the months of November and June, a fun activity is to wander around during the Art Walk in downtown San Jose Del Cabo. The local galleries will open in unison and allow guest to wander around, sipping wine, viewing art, and conversing with newly-made friends. Typically there are special “guest artists” and exclusive displays. The Art District is very walkable and basically right outside the door of the hotel.

a-organicmarket

Every Saturday, between the months of November and May, the San Jose Organic Farmer’s Market sets up just a short walk away from the hotel.  It’s a multicultural market that promote local organic agriculture, arts and crafts, music and educational resources. This is where our restaurant, Mi Cocina, gets a lot of its organic produce.

a-whale

From November to late-March, Whale watching is one of the most popular sights to see in the area. There are several tour operators, and we often suggest Ocean Riders. We are happy to make reservations for our guests!

a-todossantosFor those with a little more stamina for adventure, we often recommend a day tour to Todos Santos. This is a small coastal town located near the Tropic of Cancer that holds handicraft shops, owner-operated art galleries, upscale restaurants, boutique hotels and restored colonial buildings. The Hotel California is a favorite stop here because of the name association with the song made famous by the Eagles. Guests can either drive there on their own, or arrange a tour with Baja Outback.

snorkler in Los Cabos

A day trip to Cabo Pulmo National Park -the Marine Reserve Reef Sanctuary- which is very nice for snorkeling and diving. It can be accessed by driving by yourself or  a tour can be arranged with the Cabo Pulmo Dive Center.

a-beachclubOne can also choose to spend the day at our Beach Club. The hotel has exclusive access to a private Beach Club located in the Puerto Los Cabos development.  On top of being one of the only swimmable beachfront properties, the club is perfect for a day of relaxation, paddle-boarding, canoe, shore fishing, bird watching, bicycling……or simply a great work out on a 5 miles long sandy beach.

a-sunset

A great way to end the day is to take part in a Sunset tour on the water. There are many different operators available, and we can assist with reservations. One special tour we often recommend is the Tropicat Jazz & Wine Sunset Tour departing from Cabo San Lucas.

These are just a handful of popular things to do in Los Cabos. Be sure to ask our concierge desk for assistance in enjoying the most out of your next vacation with us!
